With a Super Special Stage in the Ballarat West Employment Zone on Saturday evening, where crews will tackle a short tarmac stage to open the event, the bulk of the rally will take place on Sunday – with a full day of action in Victoria’s famous goldfields region.

Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Martin Pakula said the Victorian Government is proud to have supported this fantastic fun-fuelled motor sport event for Ballarat.

“Victoria lives and breathes sport, and no one puts on a show like we do,” Mr Pakula said.

“We love motor sports and are proud to host the biggest four and two-wheel events in Australia including the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, Winton V8 SuperSprint and Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.”

Ballarat Mayor Samantha McIntosh said the region was delighted to host the national event.

“We are pleased to welcome the CAMS Australian Rally Championship and the Pedders Eureka Rush back to our city. This popular rally adds to the growing range of exciting national events we host on an annual basis,” Cr McIntosh said.

“This year’s added spectator element, the Super Special Stage and national media exposure is estimated to return an economic injection of more than $5M into our local community.”

CAMS CEO Eugene Arocca thanked both the Victorian Government and City of Ballarat for their support.

“These types of events are a terrific boost for our regions and we are very pleased and grateful that both the state and local governments have backed this event in 2019,” Arocca said.

“Rallying is an amazing sport to watch up close and witness the skills of drivers and their co-drivers through some really tight and technical closed roads.”

“The CAMS Australian Rally Championship will certainly be one for Ballarat locals and visitors to the region to enjoy with Australia’s best rally drivers going head-to-head in some very impressive machinery.”

With a large number of competitors, crews, spectators, officials and media set to descend on Ballarat for the rally, the event will certainly provide significant economic benefits to the region.

Pedders Eureka Rush takes place on 24 and 25 August in the City of Ballarat.

Eureka Rush 24-25 August.

Round 4 of the CAMS Australian Rally Championship, and the 5th round of the Hino Geelong Victoria Rally Championship, the Eureka Rush will be the second of the sprint style events for the year, with a day full of jam-packed rally action!

While the majority of the action will take place on Sunday, a Super Special Stage will be held on Saturday night in Ballarat, perfect for spectators to experience rally for the first time or for those passionate rally fans to get their rally fix.

Sunday will feature about 120 competitive kilometres, with new stages in the Pyrenees region organised by the new event managers.

Clerk of Course Andrew Roseman said the new Eureka Rush was an exciting prospect.

“This condensed format promises to make things easier for competitors and their teams, as well as provide spectators with an opportunity to witness the cars up close on our Super Special Stage right in Ballarat on Saturday night,” Roseman said.
